Requirements depend on three things: how many channels, at what resolution, and whether you will use subtitle transcription.
Minimum for one HD channel
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
- 6-core processor or better
- 16 GB of memory
- SSD for the system and the software
- Graphics card with hardware-accelerated video
Recommended for two channels or Full HD
- 12-core processor or better
- 32 GB of memory
- NVMe SSD
- Blackmagic DeckLink card if you are going out over SDI
If you will use subtitle transcription
Speech recognition is the heaviest thing in the whole application:
- The *balanced* model uses about 2 GB of memory while it works
- The *maximum accuracy* model, about 4.5 GB
- It uses at most a quarter of the cores, at low priority
Add that memory on top of the system. On a 16 GB machine running two channels the large model is tight: use the balanced one.

Most stations keep material on network storage (NAS). That works fine, but bear in mind a network fails more often than a local disk: AURA is built for it (it warns, skips what is missing and carries on), but if the drive drops out often you will see the pre-flight warning frequently.
For the critical hours — prime time, the newscast — keep a local copy.
