Pre-flight: what it checks and what to do

The next-30-minutes check, what each warning means and how to resolve it.

Pre-flight checks the next 30 minutes of transmission every minute and warns in the bottom bar.

It checks four things about every clip coming up:

  1. That the file exists
  2. That quality analysis did not mark it unairable
  3. That it is within its airing window
  4. That it has a valid duration

When it goes red

Click it. The detail opens and each problem carries three buttons:

Usual causes

Several files missing at once. Almost always the network drive is down, not the files. Check the drive before touching the rundown: if you delete the lines and then the network comes back, you have lost the schedule for nothing.

Out of window. The file has airing dates and has expired. Change them in its metadata.

Quality red. Analysis found the file is not airable: no video track, corrupt, or zero duration. Replace it.

Even if you do nothing, the engine skips missing clips by itself without hanging. The warning is so that you know, not so transmission depends on it.
